Raymond Isaacs aka Raymundo Rodriguez has been making serious waves since he burst onto London’s underground house music scene at the end of the 90’s. He 1st started drawing attention after gaining residency at one of south London’s only pure House music venues, The Buddha lounge. It was here that he began to hone his craft, often playing extended sets 2 or 3 times a week. It wasn’t long before he started receiving invitations to spin at the more major clubs in London, the Ministry of sound, Hanover Grande and the cross. In no time at all he was snapped up by Italian party promoters Vertigo, where he held a 2 year residency, other residents included Dave Picioni, Claudio Basile and dj Cosmo. Whilst at Vertigo he held his own alongside many industry giants including Ted Patterson, Satoshi Tomie, Rocky, DJ Ralf, Ricky Montinari, Alex Neri and Smokin Jo. Danny Rampling would often be seen hanging out there and quickly became a fan, even going as far as to name Ray as one of the future heroes of house, which was printed in the 2002 DJ Mag top 100 poll, and Ray is mentioned again in 2003 top 100 by world famous DJ producer Tim Deluxe who who claimed Ray was one of the best undiscovered dj's in the scene.
Raymond’s love of all things house and his wide ranging music style has enabled him to be picked play at many different kinds of parties in the UK and around the globe, from events such as Clandestino, Underwater, Garage City and Defected at The Ministry of sound to parties such as The Gallery at Turnmills and Azuli parties at The Cross. What ever the situation, Ray can deliver the goods. Outside of London, Ray has been working clubs all over Italy, including Rome, Sardinia, Sicily, Naples, Ancona, Giardini Naxos in Taormina and Merano. He is a regular in Copenhagen, Barcelona, Poland, Sweden, Holland and on Christmas day 2003 Ray became the first foreign dj to play at Moscow’s Super club Xona, since then guest dj's have include Timo Maas and Fatboy slim.
November 2004 saw the start of Ray’s most important residency to date, Jaded, London’s biggest and most famous after party. After 2 fantastic years at the Egg club in Kings Cross, Jaded as has taken up residency in arguably the best club in the UK…The End, making Ray one of the very few dj’s that gets to play at the club every single week. Jaded has become a Sunday morning institution, guests that have dropped in for a spin include Ralph Lawson, James Zabielia, Nic Fancuilli, Tony Humphries, Clive Henry, Jose Nunez, Phil Weeks, Mike Monday, Tiefshwartz, Dan Curtin and Jamie Jones. Ray has also enjoyed success with another Sunday party, Wrong, originally started by Ray and partner Krista Jaded as a bit of a wind down session after the morning party, it has now reached cult clubbing status with devoted crowds heading to Herbal in Shoreditch to experience Ray’s extended deep electronic Soul sets, alongside resident dj Jozif guests have included Chuck love, Jimpster, Jonny Rock, Djuma sound System and the mighty Spirit Catcher.
Ray’s radio career started when he was invited to do a weekly slot on London’s Housefm, this show became a huge underground success with listeners such as Jimpster and Terry Farley often tuning in, the popularity of the show even saw Ray nominated for a house music award alongside Pete tong, Roger Sanchez, Norman Jay, Annie Mac and Aaron Ross, one of Ray’s proudest moments. Defected caught wind of ray’s radio skills and after gaining more airtime via Pushfm and Ministry of Sound radio, the heads at defected decided ray was the obvious choice to host their brand new weekly show on Galaxy digital, where you can hear him every Friday night bringing house music to the masses.
